Big Lie Bigger Truth

Dear Church Family,

Last Sunday’s worship celebration was a beautiful experience for many. As expected, some of the fully vaccinated congregants attended without wearing a mask. We joined in singing two favorite songs, and there was a sense of joy that we are turning a corner in our Covid experience. Some of us, including myself, wore a mask while interacting in close range. Some of us were hugging, many of us were smiling – it was great to see smiles again. And there were a few new faces – it is very lovely to see new faces. We want to encourage you come when you are ready and look forward to seeing your smiles soon.

After the service we held a memorial Celebration of Life for Frank Wantiez, Rev. Ann Dunican’s long time partner. I did not know Frank well, as Rev. Ann said, he was her pot luck partner at church. That is where I made the connection – food – I always saw Frank when there was lots of food around. Fellowship is an important aspect of a church community. We have a reputation of doing fellowship well. Some people enjoy fellowship as much or even more that worship. Some churches have a following just for the fellowship. I am holding the vision that fellowship returns to our worship experience in the near future.

The personal sharing at Franks service was beautiful, too. I kept wondering if Frank realized how deeply he touched the 8 generations he played a role in from his great grand parents to his great great grandchildren. Do we ever realize how important we are to the people who love us? Frank was dearly loved and will be missed by his loving family.

We will explore that question this Sunday in my talk “The Big Lie and Bigger Truth.” We explore the concept that we are here in life by Divine Appointment and how to accept the good of this understanding.

We look forward to seeing you soon! In the meantime learn
to love yourself and live with gratitude.

Many blessings
Pastor Robert
