Weekly Thoughts

Dear Church Family,

Easter Sunday was a glorious day! Everything about it from being present with you, enjoying the beautiful weather and an uplifting service made it memorable. I have happy Easter memories; everything from shopping for new dress clothes, attending church, dying Easter Eggs, family dinners (always ham) to watching the Sound of Music on television.

Love of Spring

Dear Church Family,

The warming temperatures have made some beautiful spring time afternoons. I love Spring, the new sprouts on trees, flowers beginning to bud and usually the land is alive with green. Not so green this year. A reminder that each season is a unique one unto itself. I remember the winter / spring in Honolulu that it rained everyday a lot.

Mastering our own ship

Dear Church Family,

I am a relative newbie to Netflix. We didn’t enroll until Covid kept us at home. I am amazed the abundance of entertainment available at the click of a button. No one would be surprised that my viewing habits have changed as I age, I think it is natural to “refine” our tastes as we mature. However, as a Truth Student, my tolerance for violence, intense dramas and suffering has waned. I have come to know that everything we watch can affect our thoughts and feelings on a subconscio

Being Open and Receptive to a Playful Experience

Dear Church Family,

This week while walking my little dog at a local park I noticed how bustling with activity the park had become. Before Covid it was a quiet little neighborhood park that was quiet throughout the week and held large gatherings on the weekends. But now each afternoon it’s hopping with activity. There was a group of 10 children playing a game that loo

Praying for Seamless Transition

Dear Church Family,

Recently on a Zoom meeting we were discussing our experiences in getting appointments for the Covid vaccine. Each participant who was eligible to get one was stymied by a system that left them unsuccessful in their attempts to make an appointment. In another Zoom meeting with a different group we were celebrating the successes of people who had eit

Chemicalization Process Jan 15, 2021

Dear Church Family,

I don’t know about you, but my human experience has appeared chaotic this past few weeks. I follow the advice of health professionals and wear my mask, wash my hands, keep my distance, and avoid going out unless it is necessary. Yet, I grow in concern for the congregants and family members who “catch” Covid and find themselves in isolation or hospitalized.
It also appeared that peaceful transfer of power that we in our nation have enj

Jan 1, 2021 A New Year Begins

Dear Church Family,

Happy New Year! As we bring in this New Year many of us are eager to leave behind the limiting experiences of 2020. Many times throughout the year I have referred to the challenges of 2020, yet as a Truth Student we understand challenge as an opportunity to grow, shift, and evolve from. When a challenge remains a challenge and never shifts from a challenge, it becomes a limiting belief or limiting ex

Dear Church Family,

We had a once-in-a-life time (or many life times) experience this week when Jupiter and Saturn come into alignment in the sky. It has been said Saturn “is the planet of time and in its highest sense, it helps us realize that we are eternal, and we are one with the Universe as we come from stardust.
