Dear Church Family,

A common prayer request on our Sunday Morning Gathering on Zoom is for the Firefighters who are battling many blazes in the West this summer. We lift these men and women up as heroes for their dangerous work to ensure safety for us. Having Firefighters and Police Officers in my family has heightened my awareness as to the dangers of their work and the sacrifices the family makes to allow them to do their job effectively. My gratitude goes to all our First Responders who take this mantle on and serve with honor.

This week a hero made their transition. Ruth Bader Ginsburg served as model to many who sought equal protection under the law. She was the right person at the right time to bring a growing awareness of justice into manifestation. She led a generation of women into claiming their sovereignty, so much so that what appeared as groundbreaking then is common practice now. She endeared herself to us through her brilliant mind, unique personality, and tenacity. For a person of small physical structure - she was a giant to us.

I have a list of heroes in my life: Eleanor Roosevelt, Helen Keller, Jane Addams, Harriet Tubman, to name a few. They are heroes because they all sacrificed to serve others. They all overcame tremendous fears and found strength to grow into courageous models whose actions changed lives of others.

I am blessed to have lived in this era of Ruth Bader Ginsburg - to witness the growing awareness of equal under the law. I am blessed to be a part of the Unity movement who also had its own evolution in awareness of equality. The work is ongoing, and it can proceed with our collective minds nurturing action.

Today I celebrate our heroes. I honor the people in our lives that sacrifice aspects of their life to serve. Thank you, Firefighters, Thank you Police Officers and all First Responders. Thank you, Front Line Medical Workers, Thank you Essential Workers. Thank you, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.   Thank you to all who serve with honor - I appreciate you and I behold the Christ in you.

Many blessings,
Pastor Robert
