Dear Church Family,

This has been unusual week – I found myself in the hospital diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. Most Truth Students do not dwell or focus on health challenges. We realize challenges apear to teach us (and those around us) and assist us in the unfolding of our consciousness. Instead of focusing on the challenge, we focus on the healing and the faith of being created in God’s perfect image.

Unity is based on the metaphysical teachings of Jesus. We use metaphysics to interpret the Bible looking for a deeper or higher interpretation rather than a literal one. We do the same for much of life…behind every health challenge lies a metaphysical understanding of why that challenge has appeared in our life.

Louise Hay, one of my favorite metaphysicians identifies the root of pancreatitis as: “Rejection, anger and frustration because life seems to have lost its sweetness.” I almost fell out of my chair when I read that. By the way, “almost fell out of my chair” is a metaphysical interpretation of my inner experience. I was stunned. It was almost as if this statement had read the script that had been running through my head this past year.

Like many of you, I grieved the loss of in person connection we had over the year. We shifted course and produced video and phone connection. We knew that the post Covid ministry would be different from the pre covid ministry. And as we return to worship in a live in-person setting again, the realization dawns on us that we must rethink the future of our ministry that includes multi-generational approach. That involves volunteers and investment in programs that support multiple generations.

The good news is we have the desire. We also have good hearted, loving people who also want this. We also have lots of resources to tap into and LEARN how to make the changes. And what we need in this moment is YOUR open heart and mind and PRAYER for our ministry. We affirm that we are guided by Divine Mind creating a ministry that lovingly serves diverse generations and people who also seek a loving nurturing spiritual home.

By the way, I am doing much better. I have taken the week off to rest and restore my body. And I am following Louise Hay’s treatment for pancreatitis that reads, “ I love and approve of myself, and I alone create sweetness and joy in my life.” To that I say Amen.

Many sweet blessings,
Pastor Robert
